About Me

I begin each original with a purpose in mind whether it’s the subject, color, the technique or the feeling I want to share. I work through a process of both exploration and deliberate layering. This transformation is my shared expression and my hope for you.

I aim to bring inspiration for you, to be who you were born to be, and to enjoy the positivity and joy from my art as it infuses into the room in which it hangs.

Welcome, I am Melissa Belz, born in Arkansas and now living in Naples, FL with my husband, son, and Labrador Retriever. My collection of layered and brightly colored pieces reflects my positive and playful process while creating. Even a failed art exam in Middle School did not stop me from exploring different creative outlets throughout my life. Currently my exploration rests in acrylic, collage, oils, charcoal, graphite and mixed media art.

Formally trained as an educator, my background has instilled in me a pursuit of lifelong learning. I began my art career learning from various artists and as a member of The Confident Brush by Natalie Parker. Currently I am a Mastery Program student at the Milan Art Institute in Sarasota, FL.
